I have an Earthquake D2 here that I am getting ready to work on but I am finding that the original fets in the amp are hard to come by these days. Does anyone know of some good subs to use for the fets in these particular amplifiers? The power supply is using RFP70N06 and the output section is using RFP40N10 . Also curious to know if there are any other trouble parts that should be replaced when the output section fails in these amplifiers. I've heard that the HIP4080 usually goes out with the fets but I know I read about another IC as well that likes to fail but I can't remember what it was. I'd like to order all parts to repair this thing in one shot if possible.

I'd use the IRF3710Z for the outputs. The MIC4424 in the power supply often fails when the power supply FETs fail. The original may have been a TC4424. They are essentially the same, two different manufacturers.

Thanks for the suggestion Perry. Have you used that part in one of these before? Not sure how I missed the rfp70n06's at mouser. It was the first place I looked.

I've used both of these parts in the PHD2s. I had trouble with the newer 40N10s. I tried them in several amps and they wouldn't work properly. I use the 3710Zs in most of the amps that use the 4080 as a driver.
