You could begin replacing components. While you have the defective output transistors out of the circuit, you should be able to check the PZTA transistors to see if they're defective. They may have survived.
I leave enough on each MEHSA insulator to keep the insulator in place. If you take too many off, it's sometimes difficult to get the insulator to line up with the holes in the sink when you reassemble it.
i'm having trouble soldering the drain (pin#2) on the irfpo64n's. i have a fairly good soldering iron it's a hako 936 soldering station (900*f). any suggestions?
even with the butane soldering gun i still can't get pin #2 and it claims to be hotter than my electric one. any suggestions

Heat the back of the MEHSA insulator with the torch. While it's hot, solder/desolder the center leg. Heating the insulator will reduce the heatsinking from the center leg to the body of the transistor.
SOLDER IS STANDARD ROSIN CORE SOLDER, 60/40, .062 DIA. I GOT IT FROM RADIO SHACK. NO I DID NOT CLEAN THE BOARD FIRST. I HAVE ACETONE BUT I USAULLY ONLY USE IT WHEN THE BLOWN PARTS MAKE A MESS.
