i have this old punch 800.4 and its dead the 494 has no power.what should i check?

Are the solder connections on the remote terminal broken?

ok i got the amp running but one channel doesn't play.the amp turns on and play but when i hook a speaker up to the terminals they spark and hold the speaker down.im thinking one of the outputs.

Yes. Shorted outputs are the most likely suspect.
