i have a orion 225r wont power up when i hook B+ and Negative i have 14.5 volts but when hook up remote wire it drops in half any ideas would be helpful

It's drawing excessive current or the power supply doesn't produce enough current to power the amplifier. What are you using for a power supply?

its and old vista IV 12 volt 4amp i think but it will power up other orion 225 amps aslong as u dont turn the gain to high at the B+ and - termainal has 14.5 volts till u hook up remote then it drops to 7.04

With the amp on (including remote), measure the DC voltage across each individual emitter resistor. Does any resistor read more than 0.000v DC?

hi the big green resistors read -1.30 on some and some read 1.30 the blue ones read o.oo by speaker termanals one by transformer reads 7.0 on both ends the other two read 0.00

If the ones that read ±1.3 are directly in front of the output transistors, the outputs or the drivers are likely defective. Check the output transistors to see if any are shorted.

on the 2n6488 i get 449 with black (c) and red on ( b) then i get 071 with black on (E) and red on (b)
on 2n6491 494 with black on (B) and red on (c) then 071 with black on (B) red on (E) thats with chips still in board im sorry but new to this stuff Thanks Perry |

Measure from the collector to the emitter.

Is this on the transistors connected to the emitter resistors that had 1.3v across them?
