Amp won't stop squealing?????

yo...i know very little about amps, but i know how to hook a system up. i have a hifonics Brutus BXi 1206D 1200 watts super D-class mono. now recently whenever i turn the amp on it squeals like crazy. it's not coming through the audio, it's inside the amp. when i tap the amp it will go away for a short time, but then it starts squealing again.........what should i do???

Does the amp work properly, otherwise?

not sure...i had them hooked up all wack *** with an rca converter off the back speakers...then i got my aftermarket radio. now when the system is hooked up there is bass coming through, but the subs won't pound. so something is probably hooked up wrong, but regardless that means the amp works. i just don't know what the hell that squealing is about!
