Rockford Fosgate BD1500.1

I recieved yet another 1 of theese in for repair.

I worked on a few of theese and never seen this before.

On the SG3526 there is a jumper from pin 5 to pin 8 and a 2.2uf 50volt cap from pin 7 to pin 8.

Did rockford do this as a mod? Or is this something someone else tryed to mod??

I've never seen that mod. The reset pin appears to be left unconnected on the BD schematic I have. What's wrong with the amp?

So far i replaced the rca jacks and a switch.

Amp plays for a few mins then goes into protection mode

Post the voltage on all of the pins of the LM339 before and after it goes into protection.

I have seen that mod on lots of bd1000 and bd1500 amps I have been told it bypasses the protect so you can run at low impedances, but this may not be true. I have several amps with this mod.
