driver signals

ok i was wondering do traces distort signals cause i was checking some drivers on an amp that i replaced and the wave is perfect at the driver transistor but at the gate resistor it changes. or could it be my scope?

For that type of signal, there will be no visible difference if the trace is intact. There will be a difference if you're looking at the base of the driver transistor and the gate resistor or if you're looking at the signal after the gate resistor.

Are you looking at the signal on the emitter leg of the driver transistor and the end of the gate resistor that's not connected to the FET gate?

its the same i have and ground issue with my probe i changed probe and there the same now.they are just old i guess

You can buy cheap scope probes on ebay. They're only about $10 each and have been reliable. Buy from a US seller to get them more quickly.

ok i was looking at some smd removal stations since most amps are using smd parts now that would be a good one for a good price i seen some on ebay from hong kong and dont know how well they work.

Unless you have deep pockets, you don't need an SMD rework station. What SMD component have you had trouble replacing?

i fix some pc mother boards and hard drives and car radios, and that chip quick cost alot the only place i can get it from where i live its like 25 bucks.
