ok i have another one of these, the power supply is shot. what resistors and mofets would be good?
i read on another thread 47 ohms and IRFP064N just need to be sure thanks!

What were the originals?

timwebb 13th July 2010 09:03 AM

FQP65N06 are the originals and 47ohm resistors

Perry Babin 13th July 2010 09:23 AM

FQP65N06

Mouser has the original parts.

The original is in a TO-220 package. The IRFP064 is in the TO-247 package so they're not interchangeable. I think there are two versions of this amp.

Have you checked the outputs?

Does it use the HIP4080 audio driver IC?

timwebb 13th July 2010 03:50 PM

yea everything is burned on this amp and it uses the HIP4080 audio driver.

Perry Babin 13th July 2010 03:56 PM

If it uses the IRF3710 outputs, order the Z version (IRF3710Z). Also order a new 4080.

Check the low value resistors and the large diodes near the 4080.

i have some 3205 on hand will that work of testing till the new ones come?

here's the board

If you're going to install the 3205s, you may as well leave them. This drive circuit can handle the load. If you have a scope, check the drive signal on the gate pads for the power supply FETs before installing any new FETs.

is it common for an amp to have diodes cause all the ones in this amp is are gone
