does this amp use 22 ohm resistors? it been worked on before so part are missing and stuff.the amp stays in protect but the green light comes on and off ?

22 ohm gate resistors in the power supply are probably right. I don't have anything on the 1500 but the 1000 and the 300 both use 22 ohm resistors.

i pulled the MUR3040PT and it came out of protection but the fets heated up

Are the power supply driver transistors OK?

yea i it had solder across one of the drivers but when i put the MUR3040PT back in it still goes into protection im tracing it back now

What parts have been replaced in the output section of the amp?

the rectifiers have been taken out and a few 640 have been pulled.its power up fine with out the MUR3040PT in

Did you check the outputs?

Are the rectifiers identical?

the rectifiers look the same but they were off the amp but the big one in the pic looks to be on the second transformer.i check the out puts they was fine but my meter actin funny so ima pull them and test them

I think there should be 4 rectifiers. Do the center legs of all 4 rectifiers go to the inductor to the right of the rectifiers?

Do all of the outer legs go to the transformers?

the rectifiers are at the bottom looks kinda weird though but i dont know.but the rectifiers were pulled before i got it i put some on and it did the same thing,i took the 640's out cause they were replaced now it blinks really fast im going to pull the rest of them out now

Use your meter to find continuity between the transformer and inductor.

Are there 3 small rectifiers and one large rectifier?

there are 3 small rectifiers and one large rectifier and there is continuity between the inductor but not the transformer

Are the three smaller rectifiers the same?

Is the board marked showing that all 3 small rectifiers are of the same polarity?

Did you check the rest of the outputs?

Does this amp use IRF640s and IRF9640s?

How many of each are on each side of the amp?

yes. its has 14 IRF9640s and 4 IRF640s

That doesn't seem quite right. There should be more 9640s but I wouldn't expect that many 9640s. Confirm that the solder pad for the third leg of ALL of the 9640s on each side are directly connected.

i took all the fets outa one side and it stays on now i tested the fets half didnt read anything so im going to replace them all.any thing else i should check.and what would be better than the 9640 or those are best for the amp
