I've reinstalled both the D40 and D41 and now this channel works great!!! I think the problem was a bad solder joint in conjunction with weak leads on the transistors. I've added extra solder to the legs as a temporary fix so I could reinstall them and see if this was the problem area.

I'ld like to replace these (naturally) but I can't seem to find any info for them. I'm sure they're probably obsolete by now, but I was wondering if there might be a suitable replacement out there? I'm going to load test the amp now and see if she holds up alright... fingers crossed!

They're difficult to find. I'd suggest using it as it is unless/until it fails again.
