Keep your eyes on eBay looking for the same/similar model that needs repair. Even well-stocked repair shops usually don't stock transformers because they usually don't go away.
Duplicating the transformer is a pretty daunting undertaking. Core size and material, windings, wire size, turns ratio, secondary and tertiary windings, etc.
