I have noticed in all the Rockford amps I own and seen use Motorola power supply devices and dual diodes. They hold up fine in the amps. Why did motorola discontinue making those devices? I know ON semi now makes them, but why motorola anymore?
Ohh yeah sometimes even the outputs were by motorola i've seen this in my Rockford fosgate punch 40.2.

Motorola split off its discrete, standard analog and standard digital semiconductor division in 1999 and named this new independent company ON Semiconductor.
The Motorola and ON Semi devices are the same, except the ON marked ones are newer. Same factory and everything. Their devices are good as well. |
