Retained accessory Power, for most GM cars trucks, is there anyone that has a better way to maintain that fuction, without buying/purchasing the interface?
> Basic, what do you need to tap into Data wire and privide a RAP for aftermarket radio, tying to save customers some money and me on time not using Metra RAP adapter? NO onstar, just RAP, schematics are blessed, just would like to know how it works

I have found RAP in every dodge, most Chevy, but not silverado without taking the under colum apart.
Just thought someone could use the data wire for rap and a fuse for ACC, but one must know a cheaper alternative, i have athought and will post later. If anyone readind this thread needs locations for dodge/chrystler, and grand prix RAP taps, PM me, they are hard to find but easy for installation, i highly suggest a small fuse for after market taps.

I will try and post a schematic, cosisting of two diodes, three transistors ans a small chip as well as a micro relay. chip reads data, diode isolted, then provides 12v @ 7-10 amps turn on.
Thats what i am getting at, simple, cheap, and the store can make extra money, not to mention have bragging rights that no one else can do it, but you, the installer. I will get to LAN if anyone is interested(local area network) system. I found the RAP system in most 07 chevy trucks in an easy spot. I will provide some info if someone will help me with a simpler deign on late GM rap. LAN is pretty simple, most over think the circuit. Mavric

What shuts it off (door pin switch or timer)?
If it's the pin switch, is it normally open or normally closed or are they even using door pin switches in the new vehicles?

Any dodge, Chrystler, look in the fuse box, you will find a fuse that has three holes, there is only one that looks like it. A allways use an external fuse when tapping, but thats the rap, some gm are on the passenger side fuse block, hard to find 10amp fuse, impala, mailbu, thats the location for rap.
So, can anyone find an easy place on the gm trucks, i believe there is a trailor box( multy plugs) that after market uses for brake lights and things of that nature. When another comes in, i will post. I wish some more people here would explore this, you can put the labor on your pocket instead of using an interface. Both you and company can make more profit.
