Boss American amp

The outputs in this amp are BUZ21's The outputs are shorted wondering if theres a good sub for theese?

Also This amp looks like it was made by ZED AUDIO it has alot of Resistor packs that say ZED AUDIO on them. Did zed make amps for BOSS??

If you don't want to use the original replacement part, the IRF540 would probably work.

I also have another BOSS amp that came in today for repair Its using tip 35's and 36's They seem to test fine But im getting 1.51 volts of dc on the outputs.

Wondering what might cause this a leaking output? Or something else?

If it's not drawing excess current, I'd suspect one of the (4?) transistors that make up the differential amplifiers for that channel.

A leaking output would probably cause excessive current as the servo tried to correct for the offset.

Likely can search this site for it, iirc Boss and Pyle made or sold US made amps back in the day. Thinking Zed did make them much like PPI made them for many. Most say on the board or say made in USA.

zed did make a few boss amps. post a pic of the board. would be a tell tale sign

Yeah, they did. And so many people bought them for CHEAP and don't realize how good they are. I installed several that people bought at a local pawn shop new for dirt cheap. After installing the first and noticing the mosfet outputs through the clear cover I realized by the board components and design they weren't made by boss. Then after hearing them it confirmed my suspicion. What were they thinking, lol? Boss must have paid big to get them made to boost their reputation.

Back to this amp again The power supply fets are also blown. They are using BUZ102's with 100 ohm gate resistors.

Will 44's,3205's, 46's or ndp7060 work as a sub?

You shouldn't. Make sure that they don't heat up at idle out of the heatsink.
