Hi everyone,
I'm new here, as you can probably see. I'm interested in building a PG Cyclone-esque subwoofer using a servo motor (or two?). Would I need some kind of return mechanism so that the vane won't drift forward or backward? Will I need any kind of special wiring, or will the AC current from my amp be enough to produce the kind of back-and-forth rotation I need? Last but not least, what brand/size/kind of rotational servo motor should I use, and should I use one on each end of the spiral vane to reduce the effort each has to put in? Any help is greatly appreciated. |

I think you are venturing into uncharted territory as far as building diy cyclone subs . I wish you luck though and look forward to the results.

I just goggled about 12 page of projects concerning rotary sub-woofers and the Thigpen designs including a tear down and rebuild of the cyclone from PG.
PG still sells a rebuild for that product. I would contact then on the Rodin site for support. The DIY has a bunch of posts about it. Have you tried a search of this site yet ? Hope this is helpful some...
