Default FED16BT to FEP16BT

Hi all, first post(great site by the way).

I have a SS 405s with the normal shorted rectifiers, they didn't seem to hurt anything else, they didn't all short, just 2. Well, one was opened the other shorted. Anyway, being new to amplifier repairs, especially SS, does anyone have a reccomendation as to a good replacement part for the FED16BT? Using the search function I found a past thread in which another guy had the same question, while it was unclear as to what exactly the conclusion was, I gatherd that the FEP was a good replacement. Just wanted to make sure before hand....

The FEP16DTD (D suffix is important) is a good sub for the FED16BT. This rectifier is a doubler, instead of a center tapped positive or negative rectifier. The schematic diagram shows that the 405S uses positive and negative center tapped rectifiers. Are you sure the FED16BT is the original part?

No, I'm not sure these were original parts. I looked at the traces on the board and I'm pretty sure it's setup for a doubler, A/C input on the center tap(coming from the secondary), anode and cathode on the outer legs, anode leads to an inductor and cathode leads to another inductor.

If that's how the board is wired, it would use the doublers. It wouldn't be the first time a schematic diagram was wrong.
