hii all....i want to tray something with this car amp...

i have car amp in my home..... a new amp.....
"1000w"

the amp build from 8 transistors - 2sc5198/a1941 (100W-10A)
8 transistors driver - 2sc2690A/1220A (20W 0.5A)
30 transistors signal - 2sc1815/1015
6 opamp - ne5532P - (bass crossover (normal / 250-40hz))
4 caps of 35V-2200uf

2 transistors for 1 channel (4 channels - 2 bridges )

if u in a 12V to the amp it will out (in the amp) 23V+/-
15V 28V+/-
17V 32V+/-

minimum for 1 channel is 2 ohm. for bridge 4 ohm minimum.
the amp hottttt !!! with full power audio if connect to him 2 subs (900W max - 4 ohm ) in bridge....

the amp out 60W RMS in 4 ohm for 1 channel (12V in)
= 120W RMS in 2 ohm stereo
= 240W RMS in 4 ohm bridge

now i want to change the amp...

to connect a power supply - 25~0~25VAC 1000VA
- to home use
- to add 47000uf - 50V for best bass....

to change the transistors to 24 of 2sc5200/1943
- not hot ani more
- to get high power from bridge 2 ohm subs (2ohm bridge =480WRMS)

it will be good?

pic of the amp:
An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

If it works, don't fix it department!

How about building a mobile computer.............

i did this... i make the change........

i ask only what u say about this.....

Well DJ
In case you succeeded, congratulations!
Tell us more about you modified amp.
Does it sound good?
What about the power?
No blown speakers yet? :devily:
You have pictures?

We really go off topic here, but for ones...this is so funny.

In our country we cannot walk the streets and make noise on Sundays. So the headphones would be for Sundays.: clown:

/Hugo - would rather wear DJ's flat-pack amp instead of an Aleph.

Ok guys, games over, back to topic please

WHY?

pinkmouse, go and read some of djbassamp's previous
threads.

All of which center around taking a cheap (or cheaper)
car amp that is not suitable in the first place for the job desired,
trying to modify it by boosting the power supply, and adding
output transistors, then stupidly trying to drive 2 ohm speakers
in bridge mode with many feet of speaker cable in between,
the resistance of such wire more than equals the resistance
of the speakers, and half of the power you did not have in
the first place disappears.

Why you think it gets so hot?
Burn your finger hot more like.

What is the only way to get rid of the heat.
1) forced air cooling (lots of it)
2) bigger (and i do mean huge) heatsinks.

Even running in pure class B mode 100% of the output
power goes into heat.

All this person cares about is the number of theoretical
watts divided by the $$$ spent. Bigger equals better.

In previous pictures he has shown his speakers.
900 watts. You gotta be kidding. I tracked down the
exact drivers he is using.

900 watts, and my you know what is 2 feet long too.

Everyone here has tried to help him.

You can't help a stump with an iq of 10!

By the way, B&W 800's and a krell MRC amp.
Now thats portable.

Spelling time

ani === any

tray === try

it will be good? (a declarative statement with a ?...?)

you mean Will it be good. or Will it be suitable.
The answer is easy.... NO

even the hebrew to english translators do a better job
than this.

The first thru 10th time, ok

The 10th thru 20th time, maybe

By the time it gets to the 50th time you start looking
around for the 20lb sledge hammer.

If it was possible to take a $150 amplifier and throw
$100 in parts into it and end up with a $5000 amp, don't
you think everyone would be doing it?

The few people here that have built monster amps are
fully aware of what it takes to build such an item.
Including the gorilla to move it around once you are thru
building it.

Hi Kevin,

Every member has his value, and every question too.
How simple or misspelled it might be.
At least Dj has the guts to ask the questions.
Maybe he just wants to show how proud he is with his mod-amp.
I for one wouldn't be able to write one single post in Hebrew.
How old are you, Kevin.
Think about the things you did at 17.

Sure I went off topic like a few other people, but none of us ever threw mud.

Don't, we all now Dj is Dj and we should accept and respect him like any other member.

I also learned to divide all those monster specs and watts by 10.

/Hugo - still would like to have some more info on DJ's amp.

I agree that getting mad at DJ isn't the most prudent way to go. If that's your bag, baby, try the newsgroup rec.audio.opinion, and you'll see what childish whining is all about!

As for automotive amplifier specifications, remember that performance is inversely proportional to rated power...hehehehe.

DJ, be sure to browse around a bit in the "chip amp" section, especially for ideas in the "bang for the buck" area. Chips allow savings in the driver-power stage, though it isn't the "purist" route.

Um physically i'm 49. Mentally who knows. (3,4... 10 tops)

What i did at 17. I got grounded for 2 years for
building a 30kw childrens band amplifier (CB)
Set a FCC truck on fire i did...
Lost my ham license for 10 years!

OK, maybe power inflation it was really about 10kw.
But it did turn the antenna red hot and melted it...

I'm not mad at djbassamp, I just wish he was willing
to listen to reason. He can buy 50 different car amps
and he still won't get what he wants, whatever that is.

The power output of an amp has little to do with the
number and size of the transistors. Or the size of the
power supply, or about 100 other things. Only in a properly
designed package with all the above can one achieve
those kind of power levels. No car amp can possibly
meet those power levels. It just can't from a physics
point of view, there is not enough battery or alternator
in a car, even most monster suv's to power something
that would really put out 1kw of total power.

Stupid idea alert.

Take said car power amp, push the input voltage to
16 or 17 volts. Add a pure class B output buffer with
some large number of power transistors and a beefy
power supply. And a heat sink, a really big one.
Voila lots and lots of raw power. The car power amp
will run relatively cool. Now you can run the thing
in bridge mode into 2 ohms all day long. For chuga boom
it would be great. For anything above a couple of khz
it would be very raw indeed.
