Default Two seperate sub enclosures?

Hi guys, just looking for some info on this subject

Currently i have an F150 in which i am puting two Type R 2+2's under the rear bench

under the bench there is a middle bracket which prevents me from building any normal shaped box, and if I was to build a single box, one side is going to have much less air flow because i kind of have to build that side around the center seat bracket

however, if I build two seperate boxes i can build them exactly to recommended spec for the R's from alpine in sealed enclosures

is this an acceptable practice?

also will my amp, 1600W brutus hifonics Mono channel pose problems in wiring them if they are in seperate boxes? because dont i have to wire them in series or w.e?

No problem at all with making two seperate enclosures as long as they are the same size. What ohm load is your brutus amp rated to do the most power at? I think its 1 ohm but I am not sure. If it is then you won't be able to get full output from your amp. The lowest you will safely be able to wire it to is 2 ohm which might very well be enough output for you and your amp should last you longer as you wouldn't be driving it to its full potential. However if it is rated for 1 ohm operation and you want full output you would need to get some dual 4 ohm voice coil woofers(or single 2 ohm which are way less common).Whats the model number of the amp?

Just did some searching and if you have the amp I think you have then it is rated for 1 ohm operation. However it is rated for 1100 watts at 2 ohms which should be plenty of power for those type r's. I think the r's are rated for roughly 500 watts rms so that would be a pretty good/reliable combo.

Hey thanks for the input

yea, the Hifonics amp i have is the "Brutus BXi1600" and i do belive it's 1ohm as u say

if this is the one your talking about stable at 2 ohms, how would i go about wiring that with these subs?

the R's came with the jumpers as well

Check out this link. You will want option 2. It will probably help to have a diagram instead of me trying to explain it.
