Default alpine pdx 2.150 or 4.150?

Newbie here so please have patience. I have a honda s2000 with an alpine 9851 head unit with alpine type xref 6.5's. My question is the local sound crafters recomended the pdx4.150. The pdx2.150 is a little cheaper why not that amp? Do i need 4 channel?
Thanks for any help
Charlie

4ch-
Is pair of 2ch. With the second half you can add a second set of speakers, or you can add a sub. You can also bridge the halves so you have two channels with much more power. If you never will need that, or don't have the room to mount it or budget for it, then you don't need a 4ch. I would not recommend using all of a 4ch to run subs only, but that is just me.

If I had that car, it is likely I would find a tube sub to put in the back and run the 4ch. Tube will be lighter than any box, and even if it doesn't put out a lot some bass is better than none. Put a plug on it so you can remove it for trips if you need to, strap the tube with velcro to mount it.

Its not ideal, but for the extra cost of the 4ch and you could buy a cheap tube maybe a pyle 10 or 12 (I never used one). Then be able to unplug it if needed. It would be a compromise to get some bass with low cost and not add weight to the car or buy an expensive sub and amp for it. But up to you of course. And you could change the sub any time or leave it out. Bazooka makes nice tubes but they are heavier.

Thanks for the reply! The car is mainly a track car so i don't want to add to much weight. I like your idea of removable tube sub though.
I have a problem with the passenger side speaker (alpine type x ref) crackling now and have been told it was from it being underpowered no amp. Thats why i need to add the amp now. I guess i want to know why the salesman didn't recomend the 2 channel amp just to power my door speakers especially if i have no desire to add a sub.
