Default I got irf3205 transistors

Okay second time I'm attempting to repair a Rockford fosgate punch 225.2 amp that I have. The first time I put in newer fets they failed immediatly! Now I've got IRF3205s for the power supply. I don't got accurate testing instruments thought but i got a 10 amp 12v power supply so I think I'm going to take it to school (I have an electronics class) so Im going to use there testing equipments. What could cause them to fail???? Outputs or drive transistors? I also need a small smd resistor not sure of the value? I've been told it is 47 ohms for the gates on the ps fets. Those are out of tolerence and one is missing.

Gate resistors that are out of tolerance (or missing) could easily cause the FETs to fail. Before you apply power, connect only the remote and ground wires and measure the DC voltage on the gate pads for the power supply FETs. They should all read approximately the same (~5-6v DC).
