Default Pioneer Avic N1 needs repair...HELP!

I have an Avic N1 that the screen no longer wants to come out and up anymore. It sounds like the motor is still working but I am not an expert either. I need help on how to repair the unit so the screen functions fully again!

Pioneer recalled those units. They will repair it for free. You will be without it for about 3 weeks. There is info on their website. It was on bottom right of their webpage. Pioneer quit selling the ribbon cable when they recalled the units. They may have started selling them again,

Sorry for the threadjack but I have a similar problem. I replaced the ribbon cable on my 5700dvd and it didn't help. Mine doesn't make motor noise or evem attempt to drive the motor(s) though, just doesn't do anything but beep when I push the 'open/close' button. I tried the open/close and tilt motors manually (powered disconnected from unit) and they work fine. Sucks because everything else on the deck works fine. I've replaced ribbon cables in many cd players and a few dvd players but this is the first one that changing that cable didn't help.
