Default Can you replace a voice coil on a subwoofer?

I just bought a Kicker Compvr 10" subwoofer I believe it's a 2003 model I got it for $20 with a sealed box and when I took it home and tryed it on my home radio it produced sound but sounded like the coil wires are unwounded and made my stereo go into protection so the sub is popped is worth it to replace the coil o should I get a refund?? It's a nice sub but such a shame some people aren't just honest enough about their stuff.

You can replace a voic coil in a subwoofer. But to be honest with you it will probably be more money to replace the coil then what u spent on the woofer.

Unless you can get a very good deal on it. Plus its time consuming and if you dont get the coil in right the first time you can damage it and have to buy another one .

IMHO you should take it back and get a refund

It isn't worth the time, effort, or money to try and recone that Kicker Comp VR. They are so cheap on ebay and other places that you may as well buy a new one after you get your money refunded from the guy who sold you the defective woofer. If you had a nicer sub with a huge magnet and cast frame it would probably be well worth the cost to get it reconed.

How did you connect it, and what did you connect it to?
