Question Curious

Just curious. I found this pic online..Supposedly this amp doesnt work anymore. Why is this resistor so skinny ? Is this the culprit ?

btw this is a soundstream reference 500 amp.

Thoose resistors run hot in this amp Its common.

Set your meter to ohms and measure across the resistors and post the results

this is not my amp.. just a generic pic I used for reference

What i found with theese amps is thoose resistors you have pictured fail. Also the 2 switches usually get dirty and need to be cleaned. And sometimes you get problems with the driver boards for the outputs.

If i were you Id buy the amp. They are easy to work on and the parts arent very expensive.

It might just be the resistor that is bad in it.

That amp was for sale 3 years ago..
I did manage to find this one on craigslist

I gotta get pics of the internals though still...
