I need your opinion please

hi i wanted to ask your opinion on Kenwood Kac-748 amp... i'm considerin buyin it (cuz it fits my budget and i already made huge mistake by purchasin one Pyle amp...).
is it enough to power this sub raveland rv 210, which is rated as 2x 150 rms?
i would use Pyle to power tweeters n midrange
opinons, please?

I believe that is a 4 channel amp rated at like 100 watts X2 bridged. I assume that sub is DVC and the amp could work depending on the voice coil impedance.

Maybe look into a 2 channel or mono amp as well depending on price.

How many speaker terminals are on the back of the box? Do you have a multimeter (ohm meter?) If so measure the resistance between the positive and negative on the terminals.

The subs are probably single 4 ohm coils...so both of the subs can be wired to 1x2ohms, 1x8ohms, or 2x4ohms. So the kenwood amp should work at 2x4ohms. I don't know what other amps are available to you for around the same price range.

There are 2 terminals, resistance is 4 ohm each.

other amps that are in price range, only a bit more expencive are Kenwood Kac-716, Alpine mrv-f300, pioneer gm 2200.

OK it seems that you have 2 single 4 ohm subs. So you can wire them like I stated above.

I am not sure where you are located and what amps are available to you, or if you can purchase online. But I would look into a mono (1 channel) amp. There are plenty of options that can do 300-500 watts RMS at 2ohms for relatively cheap. Of course I am unaware of your budget.

Look into Alpine, Kicker, Rockford etc.. You should be able to pick up something for around $100-$150 USD. And much less if you buy used.

But the Kenwood amp you mentioned in your original post will work for this purpose. It should do 100 watts x 2 @ 4 ohms bridged. So it will send 100 watts to each sub. If you want a little more power/headroom look into a more powerful amp. It can help you prevent distortion/clipping the signal.

I'm in southeastern Europe, which would mean most of US brands are unavailable to me, and my budget is up to about 80$, and, yes, i buy used equipment cuz new is way over my budget.

That amp will work, its just not that big. I just saw this stuff not a bad deal but don't know if you can get shipping there.

But a larger amp would be best like over 300rms, can't beat this Kenwood KAC-8104D Mono subwoofer amplifier 500 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms at Crutchfield Outlet Kenwoods don't always quite make rated like many amps so a little extra is good. That is 500rms@2ohms for $109.

Kenwood is a nice cheaper amp IMO, but it would be nicer if you could pick up a 7201 (7202/3/4 are newer models), 840x, 910x. Can get those here for reasonable used and they work pretty good. The 840x and 910x are class D 720x is 2x150 class ab iirc.

Get what you can, but I would not recommend pretty much any 4ch amp for sub use. I see them blown up, and most when you look at the same model amp the power supply is smaller in the 4ch than the 2ch rated same total rms. Class D will take less power, less light dimming and cooler running. Most class D if you didn't know are mono so you run one dvc 4 or pair of 4 ohms to get 2 ohm load total. Or run 4 ohm load but less power. That looks like a Dual brand box here, they have one with 12s just like that.

Man I sold one of those 748s to the local pawnshop last year for $30 or 35, it was all beat up looking but worked great. I only tested it never used it.

i just got it shipped was 35$ and actually wasnt kac748 but kac-846 as i'm lookin at it right now. seem like i got good bargain lol. or maybe not cuz i tested it n seem like one channel aint workin :/ seem i'm born sucker
as for light dimmin, reason i bought another amp aside pyle qa55000 (rated 1400w max power i think, dunno bout rms) was that it couldnt push that box anymore, was shuttin on n off for some reason (was workin great before btw)
setup was (5ch) ch1-2 bridged powered 12" magnat shockwave set to midrange, ch3-4 powered noname 12" and 2 tweeters set on hpf and ch5 set as sub for the box.
anyways, i'm open for suggestions cuz i'm about to sell noname 12" and magnat exchange em with a pair of midrange 12".
suggestions, please? TIA
