Need help with my Alpine MRV amp

I have an Alpine MRV-1507 amp that goes into protection mode. I don't know why this is happening i've had this amp for about a year now and I threw it in a civic and it was working fine w/o problems. I recently took it out the civic to put it in a different car and it right away goes in to protection mode, before i even hook up the speaker wires. The green light for the power and Music(RCA) are green but only the protection shows red. I am running 4 gauge wires power/ground to this amp. But in the civic I was running 8 gauge wires and it was working fine. The fan also works inside the amp. If anyone has any answers that would be GREAT!!!!

Shorted output transistors are the most likely reason for an amp to go into protect.

Have you done any troubleshooting inside the amp?

Do you want to try to repair the amp yourself?

no I haven't done any troubleshoothing to the amp I don't know what that is . yes i would like to repair it myself im new to this and would like to know how to fix probs for amps
