I am getting power light without any remote hooked up!
The amp has been in my car for 5 years and I was getting something from the trunk and noticed that the power light was on without the car on. One of my kids left a cup with pop in it setting on the rear deck and it spilled down behind the seat and into the amp through the gain control. The amp works fine other than that. I tryed to find where the remote ties into pwm but it goes to a couple different places. I need to know what to look for that might be shorted. |

This is the turn on circuit for some of the ppi amps. Maybe it's close enough to yours to be of some help.

My amp is like the older AM style, I am not having any luck finding where the remote goes.
The amp was built in 91 pretty much like a 2075m. |

On the older AM amp, it likely goes to an inline resistor network first. Can you post a high resolution photo of the inside of the amp?

There's a trace exiting from under the speaker/remote connector near the remote wire. Do you have ~0 ohms continuity from that trace to the blue wire?
If so, do you have ~0 ohms continuity from the blue wire to the black resistor network (black, 8 legs) just left of the power transformer?

I have 2.458k ohms from remote wire to the trace.
Where on the resistor network would I probe at? |

The a06 and a56 transistors have the pop residue on them could one of them be shorted and cause this problem, they are tied into the resistor network?

I'm relatively sure that the trace in the orange rectangle should be directly connected (~0 ohms) to the remote terminal. Is that the one you found 2+k ohms to the blue wire?
Check for continuity to the other traces there also. That residue isn't likely to cause problems in that part of the circuit but you should remove it because it may cause corrosion which could cause the amp to fail. You would probe the legs of the resistor network.

I was checking the wrong trace, I have 0 ohms up to the sip resistor network.
