Default Wiring Speaker from the head unit?

the driver side front speaker was not working. So I bought a set of 6.5 component speakers. I started with the nonworking side and couldnt get any sound. I checked the speaker on the other side and it works. So the question is how do wire from the head to the left front speaker?
Or could the head unit gave out on one channel?

Typically, your left side speaker wires are white/white & black.

With no speaker connected to the speaker wires for the dead channel, measure the
DC voltage on each of the wires. Place the black meter probe on a known good ground point. What voltage do you read on each of those 2 wires.
