Default linear power 2202IQ amp

I got two linear power 2202IQ amps. Both of the amps have turn on relays. One amp turns on about 3-4 seconds after the remote turn on signal is applied. The other one turns on simultaneously when a signal is applied to the remote turn on. Now this particular amp makes a turn on pop. Wich I think is also related to the output section being turn on too early. What are the chances the relay needs to be replaced? Another probable cause I can think of is the current is increased somewhere before the relay and causing it to turn on sooner.

There's likely an electrolytic capacitor that's out of tolerance and not delaying the turn-on of the relay. If you can't find it, post a good quality photo of the inside of the amp.

You are preaching to the choir on that one Perry. Dried out caps seemed to be a problem with ALL of the older Linear Power amplifiers I once owned. The first thing I would do is replace ALL the 85 degree electrolytic caps with 105 degree long life caps. That generally solved most of my problems, except for the dang power supply noise making its way into the signal path. Just knowing that oscillating noise was there drove me batty, even though I couldn't hear it driving down the highway!

The second to last and last series of Linear Power amps that I owned, the LP and DPS series, didn't have the noise issues. Unfortunately my experience with the IQ and earlier series of amplifiers was not so great with regards to noise issues and them being finicky.

The red/white is the remote right? Is the board out of the sink?

Is there a capacitor connected to pin 7 of the 555 timer?

If so, that's probably it.
