Hi, i have a Pioneer GM-D8400M Amplifier that i've had for about 2 months now.... my Amp recently stopped working, so i popped the trunk to take a look at it and it shows that the amp has power because the blue light on the top is on, i checked the 2 fuses in the back and the one connected to the power cord and they are good. all wires are hooked up properly and is grounded properly. however when the amp is on and hooked up to the speakers (ive tried two seperate speakers), It shows little beats about every 10 seconds that appears like a heart beat, the speakers appear to inhale slowly then exhale quickly then the same in about 10 seconds.... even when the radio is off and the amp is on, it still does the same thing.... any suggestions of how to fix it, what might be wrong, and if the amp is broke, how to fix it?? feel free to email me at marine20090211@yahoo.com

More than likely you have one or more shorted output transistors.

I've also had a shorted speaker wire do that or ground issues. If you take the RCA off what happens? It still could be the amp but no reason not to check it. Can also put a meter on the power and often the voltage or amperage will move with the beats, then you can take speaker wires off and see what makes it stop....to find what channel is doing it for example or if that does not affect it.
