mtx bass controller

i have a mtx thunder 801d with a phone jack style bass control. when i plug the controller in the bass goes out and if i unplug it it comes back on. the amp stays on the bass just goes out. any advice??

check to make sure the pot in the knob has a nice resistance sweep?

Did you use the cable that came with the control? Most of the cables for strapping amps and for bass and gain controls are not built the same as telephone cables.

That is true, that cable is proprietary, any MTX dealer should have one, that is a very old amp, glad to hear still works.
You can also use a rca pot, that you can make or just purchase, runs in line with your rca's , so you have a "knob" that will control the sighnal going to the source, amp.
Check ou Memphis Car Audio site, it is called a "REMVOLVE" remote volume control. Hope that helps.
