I'm specing out my car stereo, and since I'm wanting to avoid the basscar rattle, I want to put soundproofing in the car. I know the most common way to do this is Dynamat, but that's about as far as I know. Is there anything that's nearly as good that isn't as expensive? How is it applied? Where is it applied?
TIA
TIA

I used PhatMat for my install, and got 100sq ft shipped for $118 and still have 25sq ft left (ford focus: doors inside and out, Floorpan, trunk, trunk lid (boot))
got it off flebay Link looks like $125 now, but still good deal
Only thing that sucks is after you are done your hands look like a smurf (washes off though)

you get is more yes, but its also less good, and you have to put it more, so you end up at the same point, where you spend same money... more or less
I find it to work quite well. road noise went down quite a bit, and the doors shut with more of a thud. don't have a before and after for sound, as I installed fatmat before i installed components
