Thanks for all the input and help. 4 of the 6 caps, 47uf 50volt were all blown. I removed all 6 and cleaned up the mounting holes with desolding braid. I found 5 47uf 50 volt caps and that was all they had, so I bought one 47uf 63 volt and installed them on the board. Do you think the 63 volt cap will cause any trouble? Hooked it backup in the car with the cover off so I could watch the board to see if I was going to have any more trouble and it is working great without any smoking now. That coil seems to be working fine without any shorting so I am gonig to leave that alone. Thanks again for the help.

It would have been better to have the caps matched but if they're the same value, it probably won't cause any problems.
Sometimes, the inductor only shorts after the cover is reinstalled and pressure is applied. It's possible that, if it was shorted, you moved it enough so that the bare points on the windings won't match up again. If it blows the caps again, you'll need to check the inductor and insert an insulator between the windings.

Perry your correct I was thinking of the another older silver 705 model...So many amps over so long of time lol sometimes it runs together upstairs lol lol THX Perry |
