Advice Please on Amp Choice.

I am a newbie and bought a subwoofer box off a friend who needed the cash.

It's a 2 ohm, 2 channel box, with 2 12" memphis Audio M class woofers.
The speakers are rated 200RMS.

I am considering Memphis PR2.100 (150RMSx2@2ohm). $200

Or Memphis PR1.500 (300RMSx1@2ohm). $250

I like the fact that the memphis audio has full builtin x-overs.

Which one would you choose for primarily Rock n' Roll.

Or would you consider Kicker or Rockford amps?

Is each woofer a 2 ohm driver, or is the box in a whole, a 2 ohm box? If each woofer is a 2 ohm driver, your choices for the one channel amp would be 1 ohm or 4 ohms.

Yes it can only be 1oh or 4 ohm if to mono amp.

I am thinking of getting a Kicker 2 channel bridgeable amp. That way I can try both configurations.

2 Channel = 2 ohm, 275 RMS to each speaker.
1 Channel = 4 ohm, 225 RMS to each speaker.

There is something not right with the specs you posted. If for the same amp, a 2 ohm stereo load is electronically the same as a 4 ohm mono load. If it produces 225 per channel into a 2 ohm stereo load, it will produce 450 watts into a 4 ohm mono load.

and i am dividing the mono load by 2, because it still needs to go to each speaker.
