I know these questions are asked alot everywhere, but I'm still unsure of my systems requirements. Need a little guidance, folks.
'01 Silverado 4.8L , stock alt. 105a (I believe, not sure how to check)
Alpine CDA-105 H/U
Alpine MRP-F300 4 channel > Infinity components 6030cs front/4x6 plates rear
Clarion DXP2251 2 channel > Infinity 1052w subs 10" x 2 down firing box
The Alpine amp is rated 300w max rms w/ 2 x 25a fuses; 50wx4 @4ohm, 75w@2ohm .
The Infinity's components are rated 2 ohm stable but I read they are 2.9 ohm. This confuses me somewhat.
The Clarion is a class GH amp, rated 600w x1 (bridged) rms, 2 x 40a fuses.
The Infinity subs are 10" DVC, rated 250w @4ohm.
All ratings are CEA .
Using this chart, I can use 4 awg from the batt to a DB , then split with 4 + 8 to the amps. The total amp draw would be 130a. Other references say I need more of everything.
I plan on doing a "big 3 upgrade' since my GM side mounts on the battery need adapters anyways. But, it looks like I may need to consider an alternator upgrade as well. Considering I'm an older guy and I don't listen to my music at full volume I'm guessing I wont be using that much current draw. I'm not really sure how that factors in, but I'm thinking it does.
Any comments are welcomed.
