ALPS pot for Sony XM5540

Hi!

This pot is bad causing problems for input IC. Replaced pot with like value resistors as measured across the other pot and now the amp works fine for C & D channels. Anybody have an idea where I can get one like it?

They sell a lot of ALPS pots, maybe they can get you the right one.

Problem with the 5540 it is not that much of value to sacrifice other amps. But those pots are used in a large variaty of amps.

Awesome thanks! I will try them. It's a shame the amp isn't worth much, like most vintage. Because I find it to be really excellent sounding. Probably as good as my Sony ES TA-N77ES. Obviously, much less power.

Well, as always.

the sony uses the 1298V integrated driver chip as a big variety of home amps used that time. In my opinion the 1298 delivers much "fatter" sound than the cheap designed asian amps , although thse amps have more power.

I have a 5540 myself , of course its not a big power plant but it has some special sound in it It´s the choice that makes the opinion
