System for a Golf GTI

Maiden post:

I am coming back to car audio after 18 years. The world has changed some. I still have my old school JBL speakers and Rockford amps in my BMW E30, but for the GTI I thought I would try some new gear.

Music preferences: largely chamber, concertos, symphonies and some jazz.

Constraint: the hu will be a Kenwood unit that supports gps, bluetooth and ipod integration. How I wish McIntosh would have a new world double din unit that will do all that the Kenwood does;-)

Source: ipod (apple lossless) and a cd changer just in case.

I have been offered a pair of Steg K 24's to build the system around.

I am thinking of a kick panel to house a 6.5" midbass unit, with tweeters on the dash in a 2-way configuration for the front.

If budget permits, I will use a coaxial unit of lower specification for the rear speakers, else leave them stock to be driven by the HU's amp.

If the ship really comes home, another smaller Steg bridged mono to drive the sub, leaving the other to drive the rear coax.

I have come around to a Morel 10" shallow mount sub for mounting in the hatch.

Question: what speakers would you recommend?

I have listened to the Seas lotus reference and found them detailed in the midrange, open in the highs, but perhaps a tad too revealing so that bad recordings will sound quite bad.

Am looking for warmer, more forgiving drivers. Hertz MLK 165? Morel Elates?
