Hey guys, i'm planning to make a fibreglass sub woofer enclosure for my bantum bakkie because of the lack of space behind my seats.
i'm going to put in a 10" shallow mount sub. i got all the specs from the internet on how big the box should be... length of the port ect. so can anyone plz advise me on how thick i should make the fibreglass ? |

It will depend on how much internal bracing you can achieve.

Assuming the glass mat is well rolled on, no air bubbles ect, aim for ~5mm in curves up to ~8mm in the flatter areas. Some of the largest flat areas are better off being made out of wood rather than trying to make fibreglass span it.
I "knock" on the enclosure to find areas that sound hollow and either brace or add more glass layers to suit. |

You can also incorporate battens into the glass work to break up the large sections.
