Default pioneer deh-p3500 smoking ic

I was givin a cd player to look at and as soon as I hooked up the power wires the ic amp started smoking.

Can I take out the IC chip and still use the rca outs?

You'll lose remote turn-on.

You can connect the remote turn-on for the amp to the ignition wire behind the head unit. If you don't want to tap into it, connect a jumper between the b.rem and acc terminals on the circuit board at the point where the power/ground plug enters the circuit board.

I don't think it matters that much about the remote turn-on working.
Atleast it will play cd's .
