Hi, I came a cross an LS3001 Linear Series amp. Rate at 50watt and was wonder if it was a true Linear amp? Do anyone know? The amp sounded pretty clean and nice.

Maybe a Phase Linear, or an Ultra-Linear. Does not sound like a Linear Power number that I know of. There is a 3001 Linear Power, but not the LS in front of the model number.

Not a Linear Power for sure. I have the early ones, and they do not look anything like that. Sorry... But it could be a Phase Linear? Not sure. Haven't seen that one before.

2601, those are sweet amps a friend still has one. We used to run four 10s off the sub out.
There were a lot of 'Linear xxxxx' and 'xxxxx Linear' amps, some good most not good. I have a newer ultra linear that is huge with 6 outputs a channel, should have it going soon. I saw a new one sell for <100 last year, I paid more for a NIB linear power 1002. They are just cheap China amps, It think they used to be cheap Korean amps back in the day IIRC. Everyone tried to make a buck on the Linear name back then. Post a photo of what is on the sink in that amp, that will tell more about it |
