Hi, I hope someone can give me a few pointers on aligning a '46-'48 Ford radio. This is my first time attempting this so I'm a novice. The aligning instructions for the radio state to attach the generator (B&K E-200D) high side to pin 6 (signal grid) of the converter tube low side to chassis. That is all good but to make the adjustments to the input and output IF's the radio has to be turned over. My question is this: How do I make the adjustments while at the same time holding the generator probe on the pin of #6 on the converter tube (on the other side) to get reception? Am I doing something wrong? It seems that there is an easy way, I just don't know how? I would be grateful for any pointers or suggestions. Thanks! Steve

Would it be possible to solder a wire to pin 6 and attach the probe to the other end of the wire?

I don't see why not. Have you tried this before? Is this the only way to do it or is there a more standard way? Thank you again!

No. Not that I can think of. You are welcome.
