That's part of the muting circuit. If I'm not mistaken, the center leg goes to DM1/2 (or QA1, QB1) near the preamp end of the board. You should check the muting transistors. I think they should be QA1 and QB1 but I'm not sure.

perry thanks but this thing is toast i found mulitple transistors burned up all over the board after close inspection so this is a paper weight now
