Any power gain you might be able to weasel out of that design would not amount to 1 DB's difference in acoustic power from the speakers. At this power level you need HUGE power gains ( like double and triple the output) to achieve any results at the ear. Just simple acoustics laws here.
I have the print for that amp as it was sold under other names in the US, and all of them failed under abuse, and it was total melt down inside with even the circuit board burning up at the fet gate drivers in the power supply. All of this was caused by a single Output failure. The days of labor to rebuild one of these after such a burn out made it impossible to see any profit for all the labor required. Hifonics would just replace the whole amp for a flat rate, and made a profit at that, If they did such things for there customers. Since the only sell amps and have no service department, and they refer repairs to outside sources that don't answer the phone...etc... well you get the picture... The outputs are paralleled instead of using suitably rated devices in smaller number and they even have different thickness paper insert under the sink clamp to match compression on each mosfet, as the amp was so poorly engineered such things had to be done just to get that amp off the assembly line into the hands of the customer. Most definitely build and designed by someone with NO talent in this business. I have seen a dozen of them beyond repair, so I'm not talking out the wrong end here mike. plus your having enough trouble with a ADS 850, why would you even be thinking about such a endeavor on this foreign monster ?? Not trying to be mean spirited toward you but on monster amps like this you should leave well enough alone until you have seen there failure history. Just trying to save you a whole box load of grief with this particular amp model....

Sorry Mike I just tossed three of them a few months back I got good money for the sinks though, lots of tins can in them sinks..lol the boards were toast and required actually replacing the burned up areas of the board with new stock just to be able to rebuild them...I will keep you in mind though as I do see them several times a year...And no worries about the pins, I still got them for you when and if you need them..Laters

Yes a year ago, here is a photo if you scroll down. Bad Car Amps Gone Worse... Not very often I find a broken amp that cheap....of that size anyway, so yeah I don't mess with those now. |
