Im wondering what wires are power and ground on this unit? Is the black wire behing the torriod ground or is the black wire that sits next to the orange wire ground or are both? and is the yellow power? also the diode is bad the 1n4002 can i replace with a 1n4003 or whats the cross on that since i dont have a 4002? And finally the power supply fets that are in it are E2889 can i replace thoose with 2n6488's?

Yes the yellow wire is power. The black at the torroid is a secondary ground for the shield of the rca jacks. The black near the orange is the ground of the amp. You can replace the 4002 with the 4003. The 4003 is rated at a higher voltage.

ok im missing a part in the amp near the remote turn on wire. it looks like some kinda cap or something. it sits next to the mpsa06 in the amp wondering if u know what this is and what do i need order to replace the missing part?? look at the orion 250 post by me and you will get the detailed pics of the 225 board any help would greatly be appericated

ok i did more checking on the amp. the part i need is a tantalum cap. The tantalum sits by the mpsa 06 and remote wire on power supply of the amp. Wondering if anyone know the value of this tantalum cap so i can order it thanks

see if that tantulum is part of the muting//soft start circuit...on the dig ref the muting transistors were 2n5639 (i think)..
for the dig ref model you coud remove a tantalum instead of cutting the 2n out of the circuit to get it working. just something to consider. |
