Default troubleshooting static in punch 45HD

Hi!

I'm kinda going in blind in this one. Amp powers up. Right side plays fine. Left side plays fine a minute or two then bad static. Signal is still there, but static covers it up. adjusting gain doesn't affect the static.

I pulled the outputs to test, except I can't find any data sheet on them, SS254 and SS264. So not sure really what to do here. I touched up solder points on the cards and pretty much everywhere.

So I'm kinda stuck.

The area for that channel on the input board probably had leaky caps and they ate away at the board traces. Its the vertical board directly behind the rca jacks. Happened a lot on that series

try poking around the opamps...i had an orion that would do that and it ended up being a cap(tantalum) connected to an opamp.

I think ppia600 is probably correct. This ebay item will likely solve your problem.

That definitely is the problem. I know I looked at before. But upon re-inspection, I noticed a little tiny black circle around the metal cap.

Thanks ya'll!
