Default nakamichi mf-51 doesnt read recorded cd's

hi all
my nakamichi mf51 manual says it doesnt read recorded cd's. but i was wondering why?

surely there must be a way to get around this? brand of cd perhaps?

i've got some MOBILE FIDELITY SOUND LABS imported music cd's that play perfectly,
ive got some blank MFSL ultradisc cd'r discs which are proper 70min cd's...
i tried recording on them... the mf51 doesnt read them either..

Tried DAO and TAO writing..no joy..

any ideas?

thanks
Anton

Thumbs up Excellent!!

Martin,
Thanks a million dude!! that looks schweet... surface mount resistors a bit finnicky..
but im sure my soldering station's up to the job!

As a matter of interest, where did u get this info from?

another thing, im assuming changing these resistors gives more current to
the laser?

are there other implications? sound quality? i doubt it..but thought i'd ask!

thx
Anton

Hi Anton

Doesn't change current, just adjustments to allow cdr's to play.
I use to service nak warranty for Canada.
