Hey folks!
I'm in the process of installing a new Clarion DRZ 9255 in my Z3. When I plug the in the bus from the DC/DC converter the unit sounds like its got power, but the nothing happends when I try to turn the unit on. I used a meter to confirnm that I've got voltage. What else needs to be done? Pos/Neg/Remote are the only wires that I've connected. Positive and negative are straight from the battery. I'm driving myself crazy over this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. - Paul Herrmann |

you mentioned positive and negative, did you also connect the ignition wire as well? this is usually a red wire that needs power only when the car is on or in the accessory position.

The manual calls the red wire 12v acessory. I read this to mean that I would use it to power an acessory. So, you think I should connect the switched ignition wire to that?
Thanks much for your help! |

You are brilliant! I looked at that 12V Acessory wire a dozen times and disregarded it while thinking "I don't have any acessories".
Thanks so much. This drama has been going on for weeks. - Paul |

I'm running all CDT. I've got 6.5 in front, 5.25 in the rear, and an 8" sub in a roadstersound enclosure between the seats. Zapco Ref. 650.6 for the front and a couple of Macs for the rear. Just having a few stumbling blocks along the way.
They DIY Audio forums have been a great help. |
