Default ALPINE m-bus question

im using a alpine 9823 cd player along with and external m-bus/ ipod cable to listen to my ipod in the car. the cable that i have will ONLY charge the ipod while listening to the radio, but not when using the ipod/aux., or even when using the cd player. this blows.
i want to be able to charge the ipod while listening to it at the same time.

i have the layout of the pins and i want to know if any of the gurus here could tell me if i can jump and /or cut any of the wires in the m-bus cable so that the ipod will charge no matter what function the head unit is doing, or even when its off, since i have it already hard wired to do so with the 12v+ and ground.

thanks a million.

I have never seen an M-bus Ipod cable, I have seen the M-bus to RCA cable. Are there any other wires that connect to the Ipod adaptor? It sounds as though it is now being charged via the power antenna wire. This wire is hot only when listening to the tuner.
