Stereo kit from walmart. It has a 45 x 4 watt with four channels I think. The speakers are rated at 300 watts peak power for the 6x9's. What does this mean, can I run 300 watts to each speaker or what? Also can I bridge my stereo? Let me know please I would like to beef this baby up if possible. I only got the two 6x9's hooked up to some closed boxes in my extended cab Chevy. I want to know if I can use my current cd player and kick up the power by bridgeing it. Also what does 300 watts peak mean? Thanks for all the help.

It means they can take 300 watts for about 0.01 second. Any more than that and they break up into little pieces
Re: Re: Bridge questions
Is it as long as 10mS?rossl said:

I'll move this thread to car audio before hell breaks loose.
Your question is a valid one Reptile, and the best advice I can give is to read about the subject.
As others pointed out, you probably won't be able to bridge that amp and yes, power figures are often exaggerated by at least a factor 10 in such competitive designs.
