The reason I ask is because I want to run my tweeters from my head unit which is a PRS880. I will cross the tweeters at 6k. The tweeters are LPG26na. They are 92 db and will be mounted on the sail panels.
It seems that the PRS880 20 watts should be enough to drive the tweeters without clipping and with good dynamics. What do you guys think. |

That should be enough power but 6k is kinda high to cross. what mids will you use that can blend well that high without breaking up? is it a 3-way component set?

I am still thinking about running the fostex 3" version in my car for highs, but down under 1KHz or so possibly w/out a tweeter. Problem is I can't mount them aimed at me enough in this car. You can try it, I gave up on running HU power 30yr ago excepting as a temporary last resort with a powered sub. If it does not work just grab a tiny 2x30 amp they are so cheap, I have picked up older alpines/RF/etc for <20. They can be easy to mount near anywhere.
