I need to determine the model of an amp I picked up recently.
It's one of the old blue Reference series, somone decided to strip the pain off the heatsink and chrome it, it looks nice but I can't tell what it is, and he had no idea either. From the size and imputs/connectors put it down to two models a REFERENCE 300 or a REFERENCE Class A 3.0. I have a 300 and compared the baords and it looks different, I then checked the images on ampguts and what I saw did'nt match either. The specs on the board state: SOUNDSTREAM REFERENCE 540-595 REV H I can upload an image if required. Thanks in advance George

That's where the similarities end. on my amp there are diodes between the resistors, similar to the image of a SS REF CA3.0 on ampguts. But it's just quite the same.

They probably used the same board for the class A 3.0 and the ref 300.
Yours appears to be the 3.0. The class A amps used 1 ohm emitter resistors and parallel diodes. The non-class A used 0.27 ohm resistors without the diodes.
